Feed Our Rural Kids (FORK) is introducing its new spokesperson, FORKY, to the North Woods community. He will represent the organization in much of their social media and print media messaging going forward.

“The process to find just the right image was long and arduous, with many other AI-generated characters having been considered for the job,” explained FORK President Perry Pokrandt.

The concept of an AI-generated image was first imagined by FORK Board Member Ben Rabenn because marketing research shows that people are more likely to remember messaging delivered through distinctive characters. These characters are better able to foster feelings of familiarity and trust. And, as an organization evolves, a cartoon character can carry that message across many different messaging platforms.

“We are excited to have FORKY on our team, he is articulate, ageless, and most importantly, kid-friendly,” Rabenn explained. “Using a cartoon character like FORKY offers our organization significant advantages, primarily enhanced brand recognition, emotional connection and messaging versatility.”

The image you see above is of FORKY holding a carton of chocolate milk that was created to help Feed Our Rural Kids promote November’s chocolate milk giveaway at the Northwoods Children’s Museum. The promotion celebrates the newly expanded home of the FORK Pantry at the museum.

Going forward, FORK invites you to watch for FORKY on Facebook at Feed Our Rural Kids and right here in the News-Review.
