A Breakfast with Santa benefit for the Feed Our Rural Kids (FORK) program was held recently at Great Escape Bar and Grill in Phelps.
Proceeds of the event totaled $1,004 to be donated to the program.
Fifty-two adults and children were served a breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausages, pancakes and hash browns. The event was coordinated by Tracy and Joe Bostwick, owners of Great Escape.
“The event couldn’t be successful without the help of many people, businesses and organizations,” said the Bostwicks. “We are grateful to the many individual volunteers, Sand Lake Pub, Colin Crawford Guide Service, Phelps Convenience Center, Twilight Supper Club, Bad Axe Tree service, Asher Chimney Sweep, Sparo Coin and many individuals who donated to the raffle baskets.”
Organizers stated they were very pleased with the great turnout for the first year.
Each child that attended the event received a goodie bag from Santa.
