FORK provides ‘Help Brochures’

Many nutritional support programs are available to families across central and eastern Vilas County, according to Feed Our Rural Kids (FORK) President Perry Pokrandt, but finding out what those programs are and how a family can access that help is often a challenge.

“That is why FORK has created and distributed their ‘help brochure’ to make finding that help as simple as possible,” said Pokrandt.

More than 1,000 of these brochures have been distributed around the area and are available at 60-plus locations.

“We are grateful to the businesses who make this information available to their customers and we are grateful to Judy and Dan Preiser who volunteered their time to make these deliveries,” added Pokrandt.

Brochures can be picked up at Our Savior Lutheran Church and Incredible Bank in Eagle River, Land O’ Lakes Chamber of Commerce, Plum Lake Public Library in Sayner, St. Germain Elementary School, Conover Chamber of Commerce, and many other locations throughout the North Woods.

“We had a ball delivering this important information around the area,” said retired UPS Driver Dan Preiser. “Judy and I are committed to helping FORK support children from food insecure homes.”

Individuals looking for help can pick up a brochure or go online at feedourruralkids.org and click on the Get Help button.

FORK is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
