Carol Clure joins FORK Board as Board Director

Feed Our Rural Kids (FORK) recently welcomed Carol Clure as the organization’s newest Board Director.
Clure was born and raised in Conover, graduating from Northland Pines High School in 1986 and later Lakeland College with her BA in Accounting. After 29 years of working and raising a family in Minnesota, Clure and her husband Jim returned home in 2022 to be closer to family.
“With over 25 years of experience in organizational accounting and management, I’m now wanting to focus on using my background and skillset to give back to the community,” said Clure. “I know that as a member of the FORK board, we can help develop a more efficient budget and accounting systems to provide the organization better management and decision-making tools.”
FORK President Perry Pokrandt pointed out some of the challenges around building a functional and efficient board of directors, including identifying the organization’s needs, pinpointing individuals with the necessary skills, soliciting those involved, and maintaining their commitment.
“Carol’s experience, along with her lifelong connection to the Northwoods, makes her a great addition to the board,” he concluded.
FORK has been successful at bringing together community members with a shared passion of helping to feed children from food-insecure homes.
