Financial Institutions Battling Food Insecurity

Letter to the Editor:
The programs Feed Our Rural Kids Inc. (FORK) oversees make a difference to the children of this community who experience food insecurity as a part of their daily lives.
That is why we are here, to stand with those children in an effort to face down hunger within the Northland Pines School District. Our goal is to make a child’s path to success in life as attainable as possible by minimizing the challenge of food insecurity within homes.
The programs we represent could not fight this battle without our community’s support. For that continued support, we wanted to say thank you.
Together our organizations oversee the Vilas Food Pantry, The Locker, FORK Cares, Meals NOW, The Room, Weekend Backpack Program, Jump Start and the Emergency Formula Support Program.
Currently, in collaboration with Nicolet National Bank, IncredibleBank, Associated Bank, Ripco Credit Union, Great North Bank, BMO Harris Bank, Peoples State Bank and mBank, we are looking to again ask for your support through the Cash for Kids fundraiser.
Now through Sept. 7, all funds raised will be shared by the programs we mentioned above. All you have to do is stop into any Eagle River financial institution to make a donation by check or cash.
To donate via debit or credit card, go to feedourruralkids.org/cashforkids.
John F. Kennedy once stated, “If we work together, there isn’t anything we can’t do.” With all our financial institutions working together and speaking with a unified voice within this Cash for Kids fundraiser, we believe that the nutritional needs represented by our programs will be more clearly understood.
Together we will feed more kids. Our goal is the equivalent of 8,000 supplemental meals. Join us.
